Create a Glowing Summer Look with These Four Products

Are you all in wedding-season mode? Well honeys, I am in TWO weddings over the next two weekends, meaning I am going to be in two strapless bridesmaid dresses. What might this mean for a 31-year-old school teacher who hasn't seen a tanning bed in almost a decade? I need some fake sun, and fast. Today I'm sharing with you my real-life attack plan for getting a pretty, natural-looking glow before these upcoming weddings. summer glow (8)summer glow (1)

To get my glow, I started by using L'Oreal's Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Serum. I've written about this product before; it's one I've been swearing by since college. And now that I have sworn off the tanning bed, this serum has become my ride-or-die in preparation for wearing strapless bridesmaid dresses. I applied the Sublime Bronze serum after my post-shower moisturizer. And yes, I use it on my face, too. This formula doesn't streak, it dries super quickly, and it doesn't have leave you feeling sticky or stinky all day. Jackpot.

Once the self-tanning serum was dry, I used the Revlon PhotoReady Instafix foundation stick to cover up dark under-eye circles and redness around my nose and chin. This little product is a must-have: it eliminates the need for powder, base, concealer, etc., AND it has major staying power. The Instafix stick is perfect for on-the-go touch-ups, too.

Now to really get glowing, I busted out my PopBeauty bronzer quad. I shared this cute new brand with you guys a few weeks ago, and yes, I am still luvving their products. I used a fan brush to apply the bronzer to the hollows of my cheeks and above my temples.

Now using the same bronzing powder, I created a monochromatic look by applying it also as eye shadow. The shimmery bronze color works great as a shadow. This step really helps to tie the entire style together and create that effortless tanned look.

Finally, I finished up this look with Clinique's High Impact Curling Mascara. I've finally figured out (at 31 years old) that I don't need volumizing mascaras-- my lashes are thick and short. Curling mascara works great for my stubby little lashes because it gives me length while the curved brush coats even the shortest little lashes at the outer corners of my eyes.

Four products, five minutes, and I'm finished. I am living in this glowing summer makeup. And I think I'll be more than ready to rock out my bridesmaid dresses.
