We had a lot of fun for Halloween here at Hello Luvvy. My wife made Mickey and Minnie costumes for the girls, and we are recycling the Minnie outfit for Liv's birthday party this weekend. The outfits cost $0! (except for the HIGH heels--which will be played in over and over again!) The mouse ear headbands were made by wrapping black stretchy fabric around a thin headband. My wife traced a candle for the circle ears on a piece of black card stock that was folded in half. She hot glued them around the headband and attached black felt to the front to look more like fur! Mickey's red shorts were sewn using a pair of Ingrid's shorts as a guide. She hot glued the white buttons on to save time; and made Liv's dress from a pattern we had on hand. The girls already had long sleeve black tees and black tights. We love how these sweet little costumes turned out.
And while Halloween is behind us, and we are planning Christmas posts full of inspirational ideas, and decor ; let's not forget about what we are thankful for this year.
Monday was Veteran's Day and I want to say thanks to all the men and women who courageously serve our country. My brother was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, and this is something I'm very proud of. I'm also thankful for my family, for being the father of two energetic loving girls, and for this community for which I can share some of our lives with.
Thanks for reading.
