What to Wear—Wedding Season
[show_shopthepost_widget id="1519167"] Ladies, wedding season is upon us and that means we've got to put down the denim for a moment (I know it's so hard) and put on something fancy. If you've followed this blog for long, you probably know that I rarely put on anything too "fancy." I am a casual girl through and through, so when I started thinking about what to wear to a few upcoming weddings, I knew it was going to be a challenge. I have found the hardest part about shopping for the perfect wedding (guest) dress is dealing with color, prints and the fit. It's easy to find about a hundred white and black dresses that are wedding appropriate fit-wise, but those really shouldn't be your go-to colors. I know more women are wearing black to weddings, but I'm a traditionalist at heart so it's hard for me to make that leap. The print department can also be challenging. As a wedding guest, you don't want to be the topic of conversation or the center of attention. That should strictly be for the bride. So you would need to find a print that is light and airy, while also not being too short or bohemian or a million other things. And when it comes to the fit, you want to find something that isn't too revealing (please refer to previous statement about being the center of attention). You want something that you can comfortably dance in without worrying if anything is hanging out. Lastly, don't even get me started on price. A dress with all these qualifications can become so expensive and for one or two nights of eating cake and toasting champagne, it really isn't worth it. Yes, ladies I feel your pain. When it comes to dresses that are appropriate for a wedding it can be very hard to find. Personally, I think a great solid color that is comfortable and modest is the way to go. I found this amber midi dress in the Forever21 "Occasion Shop" which is pretty cool. Unfortunately, this dress sold out super fast so I have linked some similar styles and other great dresses that will be perfect for all the weddings you are attending this year. Check it out! I hope this helps you find that perfect dress!
