As I have mentioned, I was able to help out backstage this year at Northwest Arkansas Fashion Week. I thought I would offer you a behind the scenes peek at some of my favorite shows!
This photo, taken on Thursday night, shows models for local designer Leslie Pennel's clothing line, Esque. Pennel did something bold and different this year: she created her entire show out of paper! So fabulous.
I peeked from behind the backdrop just in time to snap this shot of what, in my opinion, was the most creative show to hit the runway: the yogis of Soul Yoga Lounge! The crowd LOVED it.
This beautiful model walked in the Strut for a Mutt show for local clothing boutique, Lola and local accessory favorite, Mae's. The models in this segment carried puppies available for adoption through the Let Love In Animal Rescue. This is just one of the many ways NWAFW creatively combined fashion and philanthropy!
Here, models for Savoir Faire wait to take the runway, clad in a creative mixture of bold patterns and neons. This show had a lot to live up to because it was so fabulous in 2012. They managed to pull off a flawless show, that while completely different from last year, represented their store so perfectly.
I realize this photo isn't the best quality, but these twins walking for Mertin's Eye and Optical were SO FIERCE that I couldn't resist adding it. This show was absolutely flawless from concept to finish. When I spoke with Friday's audience members, this was the show I heard about most often by far!
Well, that's a wrap! These are a very small selection of the collections shown, so if you would like to see more (professional) photos, you can find them on the NWAFW facebook page!
