As I mentioned last week, the time has come to celebrate Halloween. For the next few weeks, we all get to eat delicious candy and fall treats (I’m thinking specifically of popcorn balls here), we get to stretch fake spider webs across our bushes and windows, and for one night a year we get to play dress-up.
Maybe you've already planned your costume out. Is there a sexy zombie ensemble in your future? Whatever you do, ditch the idea of cutting some holes in a sheet and being a ghost. Also abandon the idea of wearing a lousy, sweaty mask all night. What you need is the perfect cosmetic costume: something dramatic and impressive and possibly scary, but definitely wash-off-able.
For those of you seeking Halloween costume inspiration, below you’ll find some great (and EASY) makeup suggestions to get the ball rolling. For those of who are already invested in a particular costume, read on to see how to perfect the cosmetic aspect of your look.
Animal costumes:
You can transform yourself into a deer, fox, or lion using makeup you (probably) already have in your bag at home. These looks are quick and fun and allow for easy removal (just your average makeup remover!).

Using minimal face paint (from a party/ Halloween store) you can create a variety of undead looks. Make sure your kit contains white, black and green!

Halloween is a time for you to go buck-wild with your hair and makeup while still looking totally glam and sexy. If your costume preference relies on femininity and dramatic cosmetics, here are some looks that will be perfect with your outfit.

I stumbled upon this tutorial and was completely amazed! The pop art face paint is relatively easy and is a wonderful change from the more typical costume. Plus, you get to retain your femininity without being a “sexy garbage man” or whatever the gals are rocking at the frat house parties this year.
Clean-up tips:
1) Wash your face with a gentle soap and warm water to get layers of stage makeup off.
2) Use a soft cloth to remove makeup, being especially delicate around your eyes.
3) For stubborn makeup, break out the old baby shampoo and/or oil.
4) Don’t forget to moisturize your face after cleansing it! Wearing stage makeup or costume makeup can be tough on your skin, so be sure to give it some TLC once clean.
As the holiday approaches, I get more and more excited about what sort of witchy looks you luvvies will pull off for Halloween! Be sure to stay tuned to the website for all kinds of tips, tricks, and treats.
Happy Makeup Monday, dears. Go put on some (black) lipstick.
