Makeup Monday: Finishing Touches
Throughout the last few weeks, we here at Hello Luvvy have been working to help you create a truly glamorous holiday season. I really feel like the end of the year -- with all the holiday parties and family get-togethers -- is the time at which we can embrace all things sparkly, bright and beautiful. But before you head out to your ugly sweater party, or before you plan your New Years' Eve makeup, consider adding one (or two!) of the following finishing touches to your beauty routine. 1) Hair accessories, such as a jeweled barrette or a gold ponytail cuff, can be paired with really simple clothing and makeup to make a sparkly statement without a lot of fuss. [caption id="attachment_9830" align="aligncenter" width="700"] both of these vintage hair clips can be found (for a great price!) at etsy.com // the gold ponytail cuff is both chic and super easy to style; find one like these at hm.com for around $5![/caption] 2) False lashes: As most of you know, I love a good pair of falsies -- lashes, of course. Strip lashes are inexpensive and fairly easy to use, plus they give you that dreamy sleepy-eye look that feels SO GLAM. Below are a couple of my favorite lash sets, both available at ULTA. 3) Blushing cheeks are undeniably part of any winter beauty routine; whereas you want to create a golden glow for your cheeks in the summertime, winter is all about the rosy flush of a crisp, chilly day. To create that "I just built a snowman" blush, try a cream product in a cooler tone. When it comes to sparkles, I'm not always going to tell you to go for it. But hey, it's the holiday season-- so go for it! You can opt for a shimmery lipstick or try adding loose glitter on top of your lip color; either way you're sure to shine. And don't worry, you can make your nails look festive without sticking reindeer decals on them. I love both of the looks below: glittery and fun but easy enough to do at home.
