Welcome to February, luvvs. Now that I'm finally settling in to 2015, I'm ready to turn my focus toward fun, flirty beauty trends in preparation for Valentine's Day.
In today's post, I'll show you how to use four really simple makeup tricks to make your eyes appear bigger and brighter.
1) Create a more dramatic arch in your brows.

By using a brow pencil to fill in a higher arch, you create a larger frame for your eye area.
2) Contour your lids with natural-toned shadows.
Cover the entire lid with a shadow that's one or two shades lighter than your natural skin tone.
Then use a darker neutral color to create a shadow
right above the natural crease of your eyelid. As with the eyebrow arch, this contouring trick makes the eye appear larger.
3) Use eyeliner ON YOUR TOP LID ONLY.

Using thick eye liner all the way around your eye makes your eyes look
smaller.
To really brighten the look of your eyes and make them appear more open, line only your top lid and finish each eye with a little cat-eye flick.
4) Brighten up the water line.
Use a white or off-white liner to make the eye look larger. Go ahead and line the inner corner of each eye with the lighter shade.

And just like that, even the smallest, squintiest eyes (like mine!) can look awake, alert, big and beautiful.

Even on the sleepiest Monday mornings, these four easy steps will have you looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for your workweek. But only if paired with some lipstick.
