While fashion blogging may seem like a vain hobby to some, it can actually be so much more. Apart from the countless friendships I have built over the last couple of years, blogging has opened several doors for me professionally and has allowed me to put myself out there in a way that I wouldn't have thought possible. Every time we post on Hello Luvvy, we make ourselves vulnerable to a world of both positive and negative criticism—something we fully understand.
In light of this, it's always good to re-focus and ask ourselves why we are doing what we are doing. Aside from how much fun we have with this creative outlet, we also want empower women by showing what clothes and makeup look like on women like us—imperfectly perfect in our own way, just like you. We want to show you how to create meals that can satisfy both a healthy craving and an indulgent one, while always keeping in mind that you may have three kids and a full-time job.
So naturally, when we heard of an opportunity to partner with Dress for Success
, (an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence) by spreading the word about their organization and donating 10% of our sales to their cause today through tomorrow
, which will be 100% matched by ShopStyle
, we were fully on board.
Dress for Success provides a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. It also encourages women to feel confident in their own skin, something that we take very seriously here at Hello Luvvy.
When it comes to my style, I find confidence in being able to have fun and make it personal. I try to always stay true to myself, which makes me feel the most comfortable and confident. My power suit is not really an outfit, it's an attitude—a conscious decision to take on the day with confidence.
Today's outfit is all about having fun with new textures and pops of color. Check it out!
suede shift dress (also availabel here), faux fur clutch, sheer white blouse, booties, rings
Is your power suit an attitude? How can you encourage other women to be more confident?
