DIY Wooden Wall Art

by 5 March 13, 2014

If you luvvies are anything like me, spring weather brings with it the need to start trying new projects and sprucing up your decor around the house. Today's DIY is easy, inexpensive, and sure to brighten up any wall space. Let's get started!

You will need:

-A wooden plaque (mine was purchased at my local craft store for about $3)

-A paintbrush

-Acrylic paints in the colors of your choice

-A measuring device

-A pencil diy wooden geometric wall artFirst you will use your ruler or yard stick and pencil to measure and draw out your design. As you luvvies can see, I chose something super simple, with just 2 triangles and two blocks. You luvvies can make the design as complex or simple as you like. Next, you will fill in the shapes you drew with your acrylic paint. I think the key for this project's visual appeal is not only paint color choice but also the look of the exposed wood. In other words, the negative space has just as much appeal as the area you paint! Let your artwork dry, and that is all there is to it!
