Corkboard Coaster DIY

coaster diy 5

I have been searching for new coasters for quite some time now. I have also been dying to apply this stamp DIY  to some sort of project. Today's corkboard coaster DIY seemed like the perfect way to satisfy both desires.

What you will need:

-Exacto Knife

-Acrylic Paint

-Paintbrush and/or stamp (optional)

coaster diy 1First, you will take your ruler and measure out 4 inch by 4 inch squares. Do this for as many coasters as you would like to make. Then, take your exacto knife and cut along the measurements you have marked out in order to get clean edges.

coaster diy 2You can either decorate your coasters by painting your own design or by using a stamp. I chose the latter. I made my own stamps and then dipped them into the acrylic paint color of my choice.

coaster diy 3The best part about this DIY is that you can get totally creative and make them as simple or as elaborate as you choose, based on your personal taste.

coaster 4 After the purple paint dried, I felt like my coasters were missing a little something, so I  added a touch of gold.

coaster diy 6Here is the finished product: both functional and cute! (Not to mention inexpensive!) What do you guys think? We would love to see what you come up with for this project!
