I honestly don't know how I've gone my whole life without making alcoholic whip cream. But now I have finally made it and man, I can't wait to create some awesome dishes for you guys with the fun options this opens up.
Cocktails, desserts, and who knows what else!
This whip cream is so good. The combination of amaretto and whip cream adds a complexity to the flavor of whip cream.
While this whip cream is surprisingly easy to make, you have to be careful to add in the amaretto just a little at a time because too much alcohol will change the consistency, but the right amount is heaven!
Easy Cool Whip + Amaretto
Ingredients
1 1/2 tablespoon of Amaretto
1 1/2 cup of Cool Whip (or any generic store whip cream)
Directions
Put the whip cream and amaretto in a bowl. Mix and keep chilled. In this case, you can use this whip cream just as you would regular whip cream.
I'm thinking a nice after dinner snack with strawberries, raspberries, or cherries.
Homemade Whip Cream + Amaretto
Ingredients
1 1/2 tablespoon of Amaretto
1/2 pint of heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon of vanilla
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
Directions
Start with a chilled bowl then combine whipping cream, amaretto, vanilla, and powdered sugar. You will beat the mixture until it begins to thicken and peak. I hand mixed mine, so it took a while to thicken. I preferred hand mixing as to make sure it didn't over mix and become buttery.

I have to say, I did prefer the homemade whip cream, BUT both are delicious.
Next week, I am going to bring you ladies a dessert and a cocktail using this Amaretto whipped cream, so be looking out for that!
